As mentioned in a previous post, I promised a Torah Bright Rider Bio.
About Torah BrightBirth Date: December 27, 1986
Birth Place: Cooma, New South Wales, Australia
Current Home: Cooma, New South Wales, Australia
Nationality: Australia
Height: 5' 3"
Weight: 115 lbs
Occupation: PRO SNOWBOARDER/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT
Marital Status: Single
Participant since: 1998
Competitor since: 1999
Notable:A competitor in both SuperPipe and Slopestyle now at her fourth WX, Torah came her closest to a medal in '05's SuperPipe event, where she placed 4th behind powerhouse Hannah Teter. The pint-sized Aussie is literally always on the snow, training during both Southern and Northern Hemisphere winters. Her relentless riding has paid off in versatility and a smooth, amped style that transfers easily between pipe and park. In April '05, she was invited to compete in snowboarding legend Terje Haakonsen's Arctic Challenge in Norway, where she won the quarterpipe contest.
Torah had been riding for less that 4 years when she started making waves on the pro scene as a member of the Roxy international team. An accomplished pipe and slopestyle rider, she finished the '04 season ranked 2nd in the world by the FIS for halfpipe after winning the final event in Italy. The 18-year-old Australian is known for her lofty McTwists in the SuperPipe.
This young Aussie made heads turn when she took 2nd at the 2002 World Snowboarding Championships Big Air (Feb.' 02) at only 15-years-old. Now 17, Torah continues to define her snowboard skills with a fearless approach to big air jumps and rails alike, pushing for innovative tricks like the Cab 540 attempted at WX '03.
Quote:The name Torah "is Hebrew from the old testament, means bearer of great message - ha."
"On snowboard events, I'm just like a little girl in a candy shop, I'm just so excited to be there."
More Information:There are so many events that Torah Bright has competed in it would take me quite some time to blog them. So instead here is link and you can read them your self:
